sunshiiiiiine

This year has definitely not been one for the books. But amid all the changes and stresses, I have had some good times. For example, I headed out to California for a few days with my sister and bro-in-law. They were very hospitable and I had a great time! Although it's LA, they are still close to the ocean and I am all about that.

My first day there they picked me up from the airport and we headed straight to the water for the day. It started with a paddle boarding extravaganza. I have wanted to try this for a while, but Colorado isn't really helpful for trying open water activities.

I'm proud to say that none of us fell in by accident. It was very fun. And we even got to see some seals!

We then headed to the actual beach to play in the water (nap on the beach) and have a nice little bonfire.

It was lovely. On day 2, Kaylah had to go to work, but Ryan took the day off and took me to the beach again. It was pretty rad. We camped out by the 'Beaches' house and hid in the shade of the umbrella after the slight sunburn we both got on day 1.

He also brought along the snorkling gear so we took a shot at it. I was very nervous, but relieved after he said the chances of seeing anything at this beach was low.

It was super fun...until a wave crashed with me on top of it and took my mask and snorkle with it. That was the end of snorkling that day.

On Day 3, Kaylah took me hiking...in the desert. Very different from the chilly hikes I'm used to in my mountains. But we took a very happy puppy with us.

After hiking, Kaylah had to go to work, so Ryan and I got some beer and bonded with Glados.

On my last day there, I got to go to school with Kaylah and play pirates with her littles. They were pretty cute. We then headed further south for dinner with the fam. Also pretty great.

My heart may belong to Colorado, but I do love the beach and some good time with my sister and brother-in-law. They have a very cute little house and really make the most out of living in LA. It was a good trip and definitley a nice break from my reality.
