For weddings that is! This past weekend my roommate got married! It was an event with its own ups and downs, but in the end, I was grateful to be a part of it and had a fun time! I don't have too many pictures yet because I didn't have my phone for most of the weekend, but I will share what I have.
The weekend festivities started with getting my nails done.
Then Friday was the bachelorette party! It was very basic; dinner, then hanging out in the hotel room. We decorated our champagne flutes, worked on some final wedding decorations, and practiced our surprise dance for the groom. (I'm hoping someone recorded the video of our dance and will post it. If so, I will share ASAP)
Then Saturday we had breakfast together then went our separate ways to clean up and meet in the afternoon for rehearsal. That took all of 30 minutes so we had a good 4 hours to kill before rehearsal dinner. The wedding location was a great package deal and provided a lodge that the groom's family was staying in. Because they were already there and dinner was bbq out back, we all just hung out playing yard games for the afternoon.
Before we knew it, we were headed out to get some sleep before the big day!
Sunday morning I had brunch with my parents and an out of town guest, then mom did my hair. (And did an exceptional job at showing off the red!)
The shirt I am wearing was a bridesmaid gift for the day of and we all wore them to sport the wedding colors! Once my hair was done, I headed to the bride's house to do makeup with the other girls. The maid of honor did the bride's makeup and it was fun to be a part of all the anxious prep time.
Once makeup was done, we headed to the lodge to finish all the final touches and start taking pictures! The bridesmaids were all asked to be in the wedding with these adorable hangers, so naturally we had to take a picture with them and each of our dresses.
Then the bride put her dress on and the fun running around chaos began!
At this point, I no longer had my camera, but Man-Cub was in the crowd so snapped some pictures for me at the reception!
If I am able to access more pictures, I will be sure to share more! It was a new experience and weird to think that it was MY friend who was getting married, but I am grateful to have been a part of it. I love Melissa and trust Chris will take excellent care of her and wish them all the best as they start their life together in the mountains!
thanks for the update and congrats to Melissa and Chris!
